Lakers
The Lakers teams are PACBA's club basketball teams. We pride ourselves on providing competitive opportunities for youth basketball players throughout Saskatchewan and we are dedicated to challenging our athletes against the best players in our province, fostering growth, development, and a spirit of healthy competition. Through rigorous training and participation in tournaments across Saskatchewan, we aim to elevate the skills and abilities of our players while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. Join us as we strive for excellence on the court and create unforgettable experiences for our athletes. They play competitively throughout Saskatchewan and beyond from April to June.
** PACBA is excited to announce the dates for our Prince Albert Lakers club team try-outs. Each age group will have a minimum of 1 team, certain age groups may have more then 1 team dependent on multiple factors. All teams have a set minimum & maximum number of players. Our goal is that all players that attend try-outs have an opportunity to play on a team, however, based on the number of players that attend tryouts, as well of the number of teams we can arrange, that is not always possible. If you are interested in helping either as an assistant coach or head coach, let us know and we can discuss what may be an appropriate role for you **
Gr. 3 boys and girls: This year if your son or daughter is in Grade 3 you could either choose to attend the tryouts (as listed below) where there may be the opportunity to play on a Gr. 3-4 JR NBA team. This team will practice 1-2x / week and attend 1-day tournaments in near-by communities (i.e. Melfort, Humboldt, etc.) The other option for those in Grade 3 would be to attend the 8 week JR NBA sessions for kids in Gr. 1 - 3. This involves 1x/week practices, similar to our JR NBA program that wrapped up before Christmas for this same age-group.
JR NBA: Grade 1 - Grade 3: 8 weeks of 1x/week sessions every Sunday with a focus on learning the fundamental skills of basketball, play games and learn to love the game.
March - May, 2026.

11U / Gr. 3-5 Boys (Year of birth: 2015, 2016, & 2017): There are multiple streams that these boys could participate in which could impact practice / tournament schedule as well as the fees. Once try-outs are held and team selection is completed, what stream is most appropriate for each team will be determined. Fees could vary from $150 - $450, the season could last from 8-12 weeks in length with practices commencing as early as the end of February or early March. Practice frequency from 1-2x/week with expectation for up to 2-3 tournaments attended for all streams.

Gr. 3/4 & Gr. 5/6 Girls: The practice schedule along with fees will be finalized following selection of teams. Fees will likely be ~$150 - $200 with expectation of practices 1-2x / week and attendance at 2-3 one-day tournaments. Practices are likely to commence end of February to early March with the season wrapping up in early May.

Unfortunately, there will not be try-outs for Girls from grade 7+ as there is not an appropriate stream available for this group to participate in this Spring.

15U (Year of birth 2011 / 12) Boys: We anticipate selecting 15U boys for a “Gold” team and a “Silver” team in this age division. Fees will be finalized once team selection is complete and practice and tournament schedule has been finalized. Fees will likely be ~$450. Practices will commence by early March with the end of the season expected to be end of May to early June depending on tournament schedule. Practice frequency up to 2x/week with expectation for up to 4 tournaments attended.
